As a continuously developing field, cyber security offers a wide range of stimulating careers and opportunities. We are delighted to have a speaker from CyberFirst, part of the UK government’s initiative which is designed to address the cyber skills gap by promoting cyber careers and inspiring the next generation of security experts.

CyberFirst was first launched in March 2015 as a pilot scheme to identify individuals with the aptitude to become cyber security experts and to work in the fight against cybercrime and cyberattack. The scheme, which initially sponsored 20 university students, plans to have 1,000 CyberFirst students by 2020. A joint government and industry student scheme, the CyberFirst initiative now includes a wide range of activities including; a bursary scheme, a girls-only competition and free residential and non-residential courses aimed at 12-14, 14-15, 15-16 and 16-17 year-olds.
