We have pleasure in confirming details of our latest regional meeting for careers teachers and education advisers in the South West. This will take place at Marlborough College, Bath Road, Marlborough, Wiltshire, SN8 1PA on Tuesday 22 May 2018.
The meeting will commence at 11:30 and finish at 16:00. It will start with a presentation by our keynote speaker, followed by lunch at 13:00 and then at 14:00 there will be an open forum in which those present can share ideas and exchange examples of good practice. You can join us for part of the day if you wish, please let us know.
Our keynote speaker will be Eluned Jones, Director of Student Employability at the University of Birmingham. During her time at Birmingham, Eluned has authored two institutional Employability Strategies which have generated multi-million pound investments, lifted Birmingham into the top rank for graduate-level destinations, won several national employability awards and seen Birmingham named as the Times & Sunday Times 2015/16 University of the Year for Graduate Employment.
With concerns that artificial intelligence may threaten even graduate-level jobs, Eluned will talk about the sort of skills that will be needed to compete in the job market in future.
