|Topic:||Apprenticeships and Degree Apprenticeships: are they the future?|
We have pleasure in confirming details of our next Regional Meeting for careers teachers and higher education advisers in the West of England and Wales. This will take place at the Royal Grammar School Worcester on Thursday 16th November 2017.
Given the growth in Apprenticeships, especially Degree Apprenticeships, we will explore exactly what they offer and hear of how the new government levy is affecting the changing landscape. We will hear from an employer offering Degree Apprenticeships as well as a former RGS Worcester student currently doing one, with the aim of demystifying the application process and understanding what employers are looking for.
In addition, we will have a speaker from Worcester’s Careers Enterprise Company (CEC) outlining the services on offer. The CEC is a national network connecting schools and colleges, employers and careers professionals to create high-impact careers opportunities for young people. They provide an excellent free resource for Careers Departments -
A buffet lunch will be available at 12.30 for 12.45 and the meeting will begin at 13.30. An open forum will follow the presentations at which those present can network, share ideas and ask questions.
We envisage this being a popular event so please book early - places are limited.
