Topic: Changing Careers

We have pleasure in confirming details of our latest meeting for careers teachers and higher education advisers in the West of England and Wales on Wednesday 1st March 2017.

Students today face changing their career direction several times in their working life. This regional meeting will consider transferable as well as soft and hard skills to ensure a smooth transition. Our two speakers have both made that successful transition and will be sharing their personal experiences.

Matthew Pickles (M.A. Oxon) Media Relations Manager, Oxford University and Freelance Journalist for BBC News Online, will give an overview of applying to Oxford University, followed by a career in journalism then moving into media relations.

Rev. Dr James Kennedy will talk about his medical background as a Senior Urology Consultant at the JR Hospital, Oxford and his subsequent training for the Anglican Ministry to become Team Rector of Chipping Norton Benefice.

A buffet lunch will be available at 12:30 for 12:45 and the meeting will begin at 13:30. An open forum will follow the presentations in which those present can network, share ideas and ask questions.

To book your place please complete our online application form or contact Evelyn Millbank by email on: [email protected] (including any suggestions for topics for discussion at the open forum).
